I was lately surprised that visits at my page increased (especially at English version of the page). I know how it’s happened. Someone linked my page from English wikipedia - „Topper”..

I bought hatch lids for displacement chamber as I must replace displacement material inside. I also bought some telltales.

PostHeaderIcon End of season – broken steer

As in topic. Steer broke on stronger wind. I’ll have to buy some plywood and replace. I think that new daggerboard is also good idea.

PostHeaderIcon Why boat goes back?

I talked to more experienced sailor and now I know the answer. Boat gets water and displacement material inside behaves like sponge. Sail boat gets heavier and heavier causing tacking problems. I will have to remove old displacement material and put new inside. As it is better not to cut hull too much I’ll make some hatch holes for easy replacement.

PostHeaderIcon Stronger wind

Sailing at 1-2B is easy however stronger wind requires more effort. I had problems with simple tacking – dinghy looses speed and goes back. Question: am I doing something wrong or there is something with the boat.

Here are some photos from family sailing. Most time steered 4 years old Junior. Great fun.

PostHeaderIcon First sailing

We brought Minisail on the nearby lagoon and launched her. First tries went well. Stays on surface and doesn’t sink ;). With two people on-board she gets some water to the cockpit through valve but it is not too bad. On light wind she is easy to sail. At the end we had some water inside hull. I guess it sinks.

PostHeaderIcon Bought her

It happened. I’m now proud owner of Minisail dinghy. At first I considered begin repairs but finally decided otherwise – get her on water and see what happens.
